Established in the 1940s, the Pacific Coast Theological Society
sought to respond to the need for critical inter-disciplinary and
ecumenical exchange. Evolving over the years, this mandate has
continued and expanded as the Society has engaged in topics such as
the dialogue between religion and contemporary science, the
interchange among a variety of faith traditions, and other issues
of public discourse. The Society affords
a rare opportunity for sustained, critical conversation among
diverse theological perspectives.
Patricia Codron Memorial Endowment
The Society is currently funding the Patricia Codron Memorial Endowment, named for a long-time member who died on March 11, 2009. Proceeds from the endowment will be dedicated to awarding an Annual Prize to the West Coast author of the book that best reflects the overall purpose of the Society.
